Environment Sustainability Interventions
#EnvironmentSustainability
TU CIBIL implemented Programme Paryavaran Sanjeevani in FY 2025–26 with the objective of promoting environmental sustainability and improving community-led ecological practices. The programme focused on encouraging responsible resource use, renewable energy adoption, and cleaner public spaces in underserved urban and semi-urban areas. Through targeted interventions, the initiative aimed to create long-term environmental awareness while enhancing the quality of life for local communities.
Environmental Sustainability Interventions:
2260+ Solar lanterns were distributed to rural school students with limited or unreliable access to electricity. This intervention promoted the use of clean and renewable energy, reduced dependence on conventional power sources, and enabled safer, energy-efficient lighting for nighttime studying and daily activities.
To improve waste segregation and disposal practices, 600 dustbins were distributed to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. This initiative encouraged responsible waste management, reduced littering, and supported cleaner surroundings by promoting proper collection and disposal of waste.
Urban green spaces were developed through the renovation and beautification of the traffic island to enhance urban green spaces and promote environmental awareness. These spaces served as visible reminders of the importance of greenery in urban areas and encouraged responsible, environment‑conscious public behavior.
